When Will I Recognize?

In Judges, God sends an Angel to speak to Gideon. Chapter 6, verse 12 says, And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” Before Gideon is given any further instructions, He is told how God sees him. I hope you’re hearing that!!

How many times has God led me to do something that I believe I’m not qualified for, or simply not able to do? Just like Gideon, it seems I always have a reason for why I can’t. I see time after time in God’s word where He reminds people that He is with them, He knows them. In this scripture, the angel called Gideon a “mighty man of valor.” You see, God knew Gideon was a man of great courage, even if Gideon didn’t recognize it yet.

If God asks me to do something, I can rest assured that He is with me! He knows my ability, even if I don’t realize it yet. If He is asking me, then He is trusting me! That’s BIG!! So what is my hesitation in trusting Him? He already knows the outcome. This is where abundant life is found - LIVING GOD’S WAY! He has known me since before He formed me in my mother’s womb. He is with me and calls me chosen. He says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. This should give me courage!

When will I recognize the woman He has called me to be, recognize myself in the way He sees me, recognize the abilities He has placed in me, recognize the plan has already been written out, I just need to walk in it?

I will recognize her in the Bible’s stories of men and woman who felt much like I do, yet they fulfilled what God asked them to do with confidence and trust that God would be with them, just like He promised. I will recognize (acknowledge, accept, own) her in the mirror of God’s word!!

What is God asking you to do today? Do you recognize that He is trusting you because He knows you and knows you are up for the challenge? Read the story of Gideon and watch what God does!! Be encouraged today and know that God calls YOU courageous and chosen.
