Don’t Fit In? Jesus Didn't Either

John 15:18-19 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”

This verse! Do you ever feel like you don't fit in? Imagine how Jesus must have felt!!!

Every time I watch anything related to politics, I feel SO conflicted, confused, and frustrated by what people say, what they believe is right! This verse explains it pretty well. The world simply hates what is right. What makes sense to the world will never make sense to me, to those that live by the standard of God’s word. If I read on down to verse 25, it says this…But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’ - How could they?!? I'll never understand...

It's the day after Easter. We just celebrated our risen Savior. When I read this and hear Him say, "They hated Me without a cause," my heart breaks!! I can't imagine hating the One who loves me most, the One who rights the wrongs and fights for me! Against all the noise and chaos of this world, I will choose Jesus. And if that means I don't fit in, that's okay. I never did anyway.

John 15:5 says "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in Him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." That's right where I want to be - connected to Jesus. I can't do anything without Him!
